Frequently Asked Questions
We gather and organize website data in a searchable, public interface. There are currently no publicly available search systems or API's that allow users to retrieve raw unfiltered data!
The beta version of w3 Data visits all domains on a weekly basis, updating and adding new domains in a continuous loop. This platform is currently limited to the document root of websites, while scaling up to index the entire web.
The index is made up of meta data, IP information, statistics, and a search system. Statistics include distribution of domains & platforms they run on, such as sites using Wordpress, or sites hosted with GoDaddy. Search uses meta data and text data from pages.
Our beta version provides access to data from the root file of all known domains. This is currently limited to meta data, statistics, and IP information. Please let us know if you have special requests!

The API interface allows developers to add search functionality to their apps. Retrieve data using GET commands to a special url.

The limit is currently 20 rows for 1000 queries per day. An API key is available upon request.
